Went in Monday for my induction. And am home Wednesday night. And no baby.
Seriously.
Has anyone ever heard of an induction NOT working?
I haven’t
Anyway, spent Monday on fluids and gels, Tuesday on gels and Pitocin, Wednesday on Pitocin all day. Originally I had declined Pitocin because I had heard that it will rocket propel your child out of the womb. And 1. that doesn’t seem like the best entrance into the world 2. i believe that when you start meddling with nature you may end up with some unwanted side affects. Had contractions. Constantly. They weren’t really painful just incessant, but never did anything.
Two possibilities:
1. I am a freak of nature.
2. My cervix still has damage from the multiple surgeries I had done several years ago. And it WONT dilate. This is the same surgery I had done to preserve my fertility. However, I am very grateful THAT is the problem I have, since I was told that I may be at risk for having multiple miscarriages since my cervix was so weakened. Of all the problems to have, this is by far the safest one for baby. And so it is a blessing.
Now I have two choices:
1. Wait and hope that it does open up and that the baby just needed time.
2. Have a C-Section next Friday.
So, am going to wait. Hold out and hope, and will update all the entertaining hospital antics in the morning.
