THE BABY SLEPT THROUGH THE NIGHT!
REPEAT: THE BABY SLEPT THROUGH THE NIGHT.
Yes, that is what I said. I should say it again for clarification : THE BABY SLEPT THROUGH THE NIGHT.
And I didn’t sleep at all, since I was convinced something MUST be wrong and spent most of the night hovered over her peacefully sleeping [...]

cat piss in my sheets

I collect pets. It’s what I do. They are time consuming and expensive, and a pain in my rump, but I love them. So I do it. And I keep collecting them. Because that’s what collectors do, right?
Last night a furry, whisker wearing, meowing member of my collection PISSED on [...]

The other day a ‘friend request’ popped up on Facebook from a former lover/boyfriend/friend from my youth. A person who I lost touch with several years ago, and I honestly didn’t think would ever want to connect with me again. So, there it is, sandwiched in a list with an old high school friend and [...]

I am a total sucker for marketing. And a total loser when it comes to wine. I love wine, but it doesn’t really matter the quality of wine. I grew up on cheap bottles of Boones Farm or whatever else I could get the 21 year old slutty college dropouts to buy [...]
ignoring the bad stuff

I was determined to not have today turn out like yesterday. So I ignored the fact that I ran out of creamer. And I skipped my morning coffee. And I ignored the fact that the car I bought, oh, three days ago wouldn’t start this morning.
OH MY GOD. I JUST BOUGHT IT PLEASE OH PLEASE [...]
Terrible, horrible, no-good, very bad day

Everything about today was filled with misery from the moment I stepped out of the door. My coffee lacked, maybe sugar, I am not sure but it tasted way off. Being so very close to the time that I was supposed to be AT work I chugged it down for the sole jittery [...]

Day three of the teething continues, SOMEONE KILL ME NOW. I thought it was getting better since yesterday she seemed fine, and that maybe – just maybe – the three days previously were just previews, trailers if you will, to what lay ahead. Way ahead. But, no, it was just a one [...]

Violet thinks she is supposed to start teething. I’m hoping her dad’s focus on milestones has not turned her into an over achiever at, almost three months. I thought there was more time before I had to endure the infamous crying, drooling, where-did-my-sweet baby go experience? I’m tempted to shove her into a glass fishbowl [...]

I had my rat cremated. I know. I KNOW.
I want all of the animals buried in the same place, when I settle down for good – and we buy a house with a porch, and rocking chairs, and a garden, and, a, uh, pet graveyard. Is it just me, or am I describing Pet Semetery?

I’m a lurker. There is a plethora of blogs that I read on a daily basis, even more that I read on a weekly basis. I love to read, and reading about REAL women who have lives that parallel mine in many ways is one of my favorite things to do. There is something about reading [...]
